Backyard wedding for 100 guests: where to place porta potties to avoid lines?

We're having our wedding in our backyard next month with 100 guests, a catered dinner and an open bar. The party will run from 4pm to midnight. Our yard is mostly flat grass, but the only truck access is via a gravel driveway that ends about 50 feet from where the tent will be. I want to avoid long lines at the bathrooms and keep them out of sight from the main area as much as possible. Should I go with standard units or consider a restroom trailer? How far from the tent is too far? Where exactly should we place them to balance convenience and discretion?

For your backyard wedding, place the portable toilets about 50 to 75 feet from the tent entrance on level grass and screen them with a decorative partition or landscaping. This distance is close enough for convenience but far enough to keep them out of the main sightlines. A restroom trailer is a higher-end option that offers flushing toilets and sinks, but it requires a generator or power hookup and must be placed on very level ground for its plumbing to work. For 100 guests with an eight-hour event and an open bar, the guideline suggests you need more than the base number of units. Plan for at least three standard units or two deluxe flushing units. Include one ADA-compliant unit to meet the ADA 5 percent cluster rule and ensure accessibility. The 50-foot distance from your gravel driveway to the placement area is acceptable, but confirm with the rental company that their vacuum truck hose can reach that far for servicing after the event.
