ADA-compliant portable toilet

An ADA-compliant portable toilet is a larger unit with a ground-level entry, a wide door, interior turning space for a wheelchair and grab bars, built to the accessible toilet requirements in the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design. It is marked with the International Symbol of Accessibility.
The 2010 ADA Standards require that where portable toilets are clustered at one location, at least 5 percent of the units in each cluster, and in practice at least one, comply with the accessible requirements. Public events, government sites and open job sites generally have to meet it; a private backyard party does not, but many hosts order one anyway for older guests and parents with strollers.
An ADA unit needs a firm, level, ground-level approach with no step or curb, and it costs more than a standard unit because it is bigger and heavier to move.
