Truck access
Also called: delivery access, hose reach, service access
Truck access is the requirement that the delivery and service truck can drive to within hose reach of a portable toilet on firm ground, usually within about 25 feet, with clearance for a tall vehicle and room to turn around. It is the first thing an operator checks before quoting a site.
A unit that looks perfectly placed to a homeowner is often unreachable for the truck: through a gate too narrow for the vehicle, behind a house on soft lawn, or under low power lines. Delivery trucks carry units on a lift gate or a trailer and need a straight approach.
If access is tight, say so on the order. Operators can hand-truck a unit a short distance on hard surface, but not across mud, and not for weekly service.
