80-person wedding with a 4-hour open bar: two units or three?

We're planning an 80-guest backyard wedding with a 4-hour open bar. The rental company suggested two standard units. Our ground is level grass, and a vacuum truck can park right next to the spot. I'm worried about lines forming with everyone drinking. Should we stick with two units or add a third? Does the open bar change the math?

Rent three standard units for an 80-guest wedding with a four-hour open bar. The open bar changes the math because alcohol increases usage frequency and the risk of queues. Industry guidelines start at one standard unit per 50 to 75 people for a four-hour event, but alcohol, mixed-gender crowds, and events longer than four hours all require more units. With 80 guests drinking, two units may lead to lines, especially if women are waiting. Place the units in a cluster on your level grass with clear truck access for servicing. A third unit adds a buffer for peak times and improves guest experience. Servicing won't be needed for a one-day event, but if you extend the rental, weekly service visits are standard. The rental cost depends on unit count, rental duration, and delivery distance, not the bar itself.
