Can we use a restroom trailer for a 3-day fall festival?

I’m organizing a three-day fall festival in our city park, Friday afternoon through Sunday evening. We expect about 500 people a day, with food trucks and beer gardens. I’m considering a restroom trailer instead of standard portable toilets for a nicer guest experience. The park has level grass, and a truck can pull right up to the site.

My main worry is capacity: how big of a fresh water tank and holding tank do we need for three days of steady use? And does a trailer need a service visit during the event to refill water and pump waste, or can it handle the whole weekend without one?

A restroom trailer is an excellent choice for your festival, but it will require a service visit during the event given the size and duration. For 500 guests over three days, a trailer's capacity is the main limitation.

The holding tank and fresh water tank sizes vary by model. A smaller trailer might have tanks holding a few hundred gallons, while a larger one could hold over a thousand. Even a large trailer will likely need to be pumped and have its water replenished at least once, probably on Saturday, for a crowd that size using toilets and sinks for three days. The rental company will plan the service frequency based on the tank sizes and expected usage. You must confirm the trailer includes an ADA-compliant unit to comply with the ADA cluster rule, as the park is a public accommodation.

The cost is driven by the trailer's size and luxury level, the rental duration, and the number of service visits required. Having level ground and easy truck access for delivery and service will help manage that cost. Discuss your expected attendance and the beer garden with the rental company so they can specify a trailer with adequate capacity and schedule the necessary mid-event service.
