Service frequency
Also called: service schedule, pumping schedule
Service frequency is how often a portable toilet is pumped and cleaned, from once a week for a lightly used construction unit to daily for a festival cluster. The right frequency depends on users per day, hours of use, heat and whether the unit has a flushing water tank.
Under-servicing is the root cause of most complaints: odor, full tanks, empty paper. When a unit smells by midweek, the answer is a second weekly service or a second unit, not a stronger chemical.
Ask the rental company what the base rate includes and what an extra service costs. Many operators price a second weekly service as a flat add-on.
