2026 holiday market: porta potties for 1000 visitors over a weekend?

We're mapping out the 2026 holiday market for our town, a two-day event that draws about a thousand visitors each Saturday and Sunday. The market runs from 10am to 8pm both days, with a dozen food vendors and plenty of hot drinks. The site is a flat, grassy park, and the service truck can pull right up to the edge of the field.

I'm trying to figure out our restroom setup. We used basic standard units last year, but I'm wondering if we should upgrade to a restroom trailer or some deluxe units for a better guest experience. We'll definitely need at least one ADA-compliant unit. How many total units should we plan for, and what type of setup makes the most sense for a busy weekend market?

Plan for 20 to 25 portable toilets total, including one ADA-compliant unit per cluster, for your holiday market. The event duration, food vendors and hot drinks mean you need more units than a shorter gathering. A restroom trailer provides flushing toilets and sinks but requires a generator and level ground, which adds cost and setup complexity. Deluxe units with flushing and sinks are a middle option that improves the guest experience without the power needs of a trailer.

Place the units in clusters with clear paths for your service truck. Service frequency depends on use: a two-day event with 1000 visitors daily needs pumping after each day or a mid-day service visit to keep them clean. The rental cost is driven by unit type, service frequency and delivery distance. Your flat park with truck access helps control costs.
