Kitchen remodel starting Monday: can they deliver the porta potty Sunday evening so the crew has it at 7am?

We're tearing out our kitchen starting Monday and the contractor wants a porta potty on site before the crew shows up at 7. Our indoor bathroom is getting boxed off for the demo dust, so they don't want anyone walking through the house. I asked about a Sunday evening drop so it's sitting there when they arrive, but the office said weekend deliveries are hit or miss and they might only guarantee Monday mid-morning.

Has anyone actually gotten a Sunday delivery for a residential remodel, or do most companies stick to weekday routes? If Monday morning is the best they can do, how early do they usually show up? We have a driveway with easy truck access and no gate codes. Just don't want three guys standing around waiting on a unit while demo starts.

Sunday evening delivery is possible but uncommon for residential jobs. Most rental companies run weekday routes for construction and remodels. The office told you the truth: weekend deliveries are not guaranteed and often cost more. Your contractor should plan for the unit to arrive Monday morning, not Sunday.

For a Monday delivery, the truck usually starts its route early. You might see the unit by 7 or 8 am if you are near the start of the driver's list. Your clear driveway and no gate code help. A standard portable toilet is enough for a small crew. OSHA 1926.51 says one toilet is the minimum for 20 or fewer workers, which covers most residential jobs. You do not need a deluxe unit or an ADA-compliant unit for a crew-only site. Weekly service is the norm. The rental company will set a service day based on your location and their schedule. The service frequency might increase if the crew is large or the weather is hot. The monthly rental rate is lower than a short-term rental. The delivery fee depends on the distance from the company's yard. Ask the office for their earliest possible Monday drop-off time and confirm it with your contractor.

Luis is right, Sunday delivery is rare. The office schedules routes by geography and job type, not by customer request. Residential remodels are low priority compared to Monday-morning construction sites that have penalties for late delivery. Your driver likely has a set Monday route that starts around 6 am. With no gate code and easy truck access, you could be an early stop. Confirm with the office that your job is flagged for first-thing Monday delivery. A standard unit is sufficient for a kitchen crew under OSHA rules.
