What's the difference between a flushing porta potty and a restroom trailer stall?

We're planning our wedding for 140 guests on my parents' property next spring. The event will be about six hours with a full dinner and an open bar, so we need restrooms that feel appropriate. The ground is flat grass with good access for a truck.

We're comparing a deluxe portable toilet, which has a flushing toilet and a small sink inside the unit, to a restroom trailer. Both types flush. The restroom trailer is significantly more expensive.

I'm trying to understand what the trailer stall offers that the single deluxe unit doesn't. Is it just more space and a nicer finish, or are there functional differences in the plumbing, the water supply, or the ventilation that make it a better experience for guests? What exactly are we paying for with the upgrade?

A restroom trailer stall offers a permanent bathroom experience with full plumbing, climate control and separate stalls, while a deluxe flushing portable toilet is a self-contained single unit with a small sink and limited amenities. The restroom trailer connects to a fresh water tank and a gray water tank, has a pressurized water system for multiple flushes, and includes features like mirrors, counters, lighting and heating or air conditioning. Its vent stack system provides better odor control than a single unit. A deluxe portable toilet has its own small holding tank for waste and a fresh water tank for the sink and flush; it is serviced by a vacuum truck that pumps both. For 140 guests with a six-hour event, dinner and an open bar, you need more than one unit. The industry guideline starts near one unit per 50 to 75 people for a four-hour event, and you add units for alcohol, longer duration and food service. A restroom trailer typically has multiple stalls and may include an ADA-compliant unit. The higher cost covers the trailer's construction, amenities, service frequency (which may be daily for an event) and the need for a generator or power hookup.
