October 2026 wedding: 150 guests, mostly women. How many porta potties?

We're planning our October 2026 wedding on my parents' property in Charleston. We'll have 150 guests, and most of them are women. The event will run about six hours with dinner and an open bar. I want to avoid long lines and make sure everyone is comfortable. The ground is level grass, and a truck can drive right up to the spot. I'm considering a mix of standard units and maybe one deluxe or ADA-compliant unit. How many portable toilets do we need for a crowd that is mostly women? Should I add more units because of the alcohol?

You need at least eight to ten portable toilets for 150 guests at a six-hour wedding with an open bar and a majority-female crowd. The event industry uses a starting guideline of about one standard unit per 50 to 75 people for a four-hour event. A longer event, alcohol service and a crowd with more women all increase the demand for restrooms, so you should plan for more units than the baseline number.

Your idea of a mix is good. A cluster with one ADA-compliant unit is required by the ADA 5 percent cluster rule when multiple units are grouped. A deluxe unit with a sink is a nice upgrade for guests. Since the event is only one day, you do not need a weekly service visit; the units will be delivered clean and serviced after pickup. The rental price will be higher for the deluxe and ADA units than for the standard ones and will include a delivery and pickup fee.
