Car show in a paved lot for about 500 people over six hours: how many porta potties, and one cluster or two?

Our little car club is hosting a fall show on the last Saturday of October, 9am to 3pm, in a big paved lot behind a shopping strip that's closed for the day. Last year we had around 120 show cars, and the guys working the gate figured 400 to 500 people came through over the whole day. Most folks wander in and out instead of staying all six hours. There's a burger tent and a coffee trailer but no alcohol. The building restrooms stay locked, so it's all rentals.

Two things I'm stuck on. Since it's blacktop, do the units need anything under them or some kind of tie down if the wind picks up? And are we smarter putting them all in one spot by the food, or splitting them between the food and the far end where the trucks and trailers park? Would like to get the count locked in this week.

For a six-hour car show with 500 people and no alcohol, rent nine standard portable toilets and one ADA-compliant portable toilet. Place them in two clusters: one near the food vendors and one near the truck and trailer parking area. The ADA cluster rule requires at least one accessible unit per cluster, so each cluster needs its own ADA-compliant unit if you split them.

On paved ground, a rental company will place units directly on the asphalt. They use staking and tie-downs if wind is forecast, which is common for events.

Service frequency depends on use. For a one-day event, no mid-event service is needed if units start fresh. Weekly service is the norm for rentals, but your event is short. Cost drivers are unit type, rental duration, service frequency, and delivery distance. More units or a restroom trailer cost more but improve guest experience.
