Hunting camp porta potty: Will a monthly service hold up for 5 months of light use?

I'm setting up a hunting camp in the mountains for this season. The camp will be used by about eight people, just on weekends from October through February. There's no septic system, so I'm looking at a long-term rental for a portable toilet. The ground is a flat gravel patch, and a service truck can get right to it. Since it's only two days a week of light use, I'm wondering if a monthly service will be enough to keep a standard unit clean for the whole five months. The unit will sit unused from Monday to Friday. Will the deodorizer last that long between visits? And should I think about a deluxe unit with a sink for a hunting camp, or is a standard one just fine?

A monthly service for a standard unit will work for your hunting camp. Your unit will sit unused five days a week, and eight people using it lightly over two days won't fill the holding tank or overwhelm the deodorizer. The formaldehyde-free deodorizer used now is stable and won't break down between monthly visits. A standard unit is fine; a deluxe unit with a sink adds complexity because its fresh water tank can freeze in winter. Your flat gravel patch with good truck access is ideal. Confirm with your rental company that they offer monthly service on a long-term rental, and ask about their winterization procedure for cold months.
