Bathroom remodel: will the service truck still reach if we pour the driveway extension?

We're gutting our only bathroom for about six weeks and already have a standard unit on the asphalt driveway. Next week the crew wants to pour a short driveway extension along the side of the house, so the unit may need to slide a few feet toward the street while the concrete cures.

I'm trying to figure out whether the vacuum truck still needs a straight pull-in for weekly service, or if they can hose from the curb once the unit is closer to the road. The driveway stays level, truck can still get in from the street, and we have one adult home most days.

Anyone run into this during a remodel? Do I need to call ahead before they move the unit, or is sliding it a few feet for a pour normal?

Yes, the service truck will still reach if you pour the driveway extension and slide the unit a few feet toward the street, as long as the truck can park within about 25 feet of the unit and the hose reaches. A vacuum truck uses a flexible hose to pump the holding tank, so a straight pull-in is not strictly necessary if the unit remains accessible. Moving the unit temporarily for concrete work is normal, but you must call the rental company ahead of the move. They need to know the new placement to avoid a missed service, which they usually bill. Ensure the unit stays on level ground and the truck access from the street remains clear. With one adult home most days, you can coordinate if the driver needs assistance. For a six-week remodel with a standard unit, weekly service is typical, but inform the company if use increases due to crew size, OSHA 1926.51 requires one toilet per 20 or fewer workers on a construction site, so your crew may affect frequency.
