Our unit is on a slope. Will the service truck have trouble?

We're renovating our only bathroom and have a standard portable toilet on our driveway for the next month. The only flat spot is on a slight incline, maybe a 5-degree slope. The unit is sitting level, but I'm worried about the service truck. The vacuum truck can park right next to it on the street, about 20 feet away, but will the slope cause problems with pumping? Does the hose need to run uphill to the truck, and will that affect how well it empties the holding tank? I don't want a missed service because of this.

A 5-degree slope will not cause problems for the vacuum truck service. The service vehicle pumps the holding tank using a powerful vacuum system that can handle the hose running uphill over a 20-foot distance. The key factor is that the standard portable toilet itself is sitting level, which ensures the waste flows to the tank's pump-out port.

Your setup is correct. The truck parks on the street, the driver runs the hose to the unit, and the vacuum does the work. A slight incline on the hose path does not reduce suction enough to matter. Operators service units on slopes and uneven ground regularly. The real issue for a missed service is if the truck cannot get within hose reach or if the unit is blocked by vehicles or debris on service day.

For a month-long rental with a single unit, weekly service is standard. Confirm with your rental company that the unit is accessible every scheduled service day. The driver will note any access problems. Your described placement sounds fine.
