Thanksgiving 2026 dinner for 60: porta potties for outdoor seating?

We're hosting Thanksgiving dinner for 60 people next year, and I'm planning to set up outdoor seating since our indoor space is tight. The dinner will run about 4 hours, with a full meal and wine served. Our yard is flat grass, and a truck can easily pull up near the proposed spot. We have one bathroom inside the house, but I'm worried it won't be enough with everyone outside. Should I rent a few standard portable toilets, or is a deluxe unit with a sink better for a nicer feel? Also, do I need an ADA-compliant unit even for a private home event?

Rent two standard portable toilets and one ADA-compliant unit for your Thanksgiving dinner. The ADA Standards for Accessible Design require at least one ADA-compliant portable toilet in any cluster of units, even for private events. For 60 people over four hours with alcohol served, two standard units meet the event planning guideline, which starts at one unit per 50 to 75 people and adds units for factors like alcohol and duration. A deluxe portable toilet with a sink offers a nicer feel but costs more due to its flushing mechanism and fresh water needs. Your flat grass yard with truck access simplifies placement and service. Weekly service is standard, but for a one-day event, you'll pay a weekend rate that includes delivery, pickup, and one service cycle. The rental cost depends on unit type, rental duration, and delivery distance.
