Flushing portable toilet for office remodel: noise and maintenance issues?

I'm bidding an office remodel for a small tech firm with 15 employees who will remain on-site throughout the six-week project. They're asking about an upgrade from a standard portable toilet. I'm considering a deluxe portable toilet with a flushing bowl and a small sink. It would be a real comfort improvement over the basic unit. But I have two worries. The flushing mechanism uses a battery-powered pump that could be noisy for people working nearby. And the onboard sink has a small fresh water tank that needs frequent refilling, which might mean more service visits. Has anyone used these units in a quiet office setting? Is the maintenance a noticeable step up from a standard unit?

A deluxe flushing unit works fine for a 15 person office crew, and the noise worry is mostly a non issue. Every flushing unit I've had on a remodel used a foot pedal pump for both the flush and the sink, so there was no motor running at all. If the one you get quoted is battery powered, ask to hear it cycle before you sign. A short pump hum through an exterior wall is not something people at their desks are going to notice much.

Maintenance is the real step up. A deluxe unit carries flush water plus a fresh water tank for the sink, and both get topped off on every service along with pumping the waste side. The flush water also adds volume to the holding tank, so it fills quicker than a standard unit with the same people using it. Ask for the service schedule to be set for 15 daily users over six weeks instead of just taking the default visit.

For your own crew, OSHA 1926.51 Table D-1 calls for one toilet for 20 or fewer workers, and 1926.51(f) requires washing facilities, which the built in sink covers. Park it where the truck can reach it without crossing the office entrance during work hours.
