What's the difference between a flushing portable toilet and a deluxe unit?

We're getting married next spring in my parents' backyard with 140 guests. The party will run about six hours with a catered dinner and an open bar. I'm looking at renting portable toilets and see both a deluxe unit and a flushing portable toilet listed. The descriptions both mention a flushing toilet and a sink, but the prices are different. The rental company says both need to be on level ground near the driveway for the vacuum truck to reach. I want to know what the actual difference is between these two types. Is one more comfortable or easier to maintain for a wedding? Should I consider one over the other for guest experience?

A flushing portable toilet is a standalone unit with a foot-pump or hand-pump flush and a small sink, while a deluxe portable toilet is a specific type of flushing unit that often includes a mirror, better ventilation, and a more polished interior for guest comfort. Both use a holding tank that requires pumping by a vacuum truck, but the deluxe model is designed to feel more like a permanent bathroom. For a wedding with 140 guests, six hours, dinner, and an open bar, you'll need more than the baseline guideline of one unit per 50-75 people; plan for multiple units to avoid lines. A deluxe unit enhances guest experience with added amenities, but it may cost more due to its features and maintenance. Both require level ground and truck access. Consider a mix, including an ADA-compliant unit for accessibility, and ensure service is scheduled post-event to handle higher use.
