Fence crew on a different yard every week: have the unit moved each job, or rent fresh each time?

I run a small fence crew, four guys including me, and we're on a different residential yard pretty much every week through the end of fall. Most jobs run three to five days. A lot of homeowners don't love us using their bathroom, and honestly I'd rather not ask.

What I'm trying to figure out is the smartest way to handle a porta potty when the site keeps changing. Do rental outfits usually let you keep one unit and just have the driver pick it up and drop it at the next address on a set day? Or is it normally treated as a brand new delivery every time?

Also, how much notice do they usually need for a move like that? I only know the next address about a week out, sometimes less if a job slips because of rain.

Rental companies will move a single standard portable toilet between job sites for a fence crew of four workers, which satisfies OSHA 1926.51 for 20 or fewer workers. Moving the unit is cheaper than renting fresh each week because you avoid a new delivery fee and the first month's rental rate applies continuously. The driver pumps and cleans the unit at the old site, transports it, and places it at the new address on your scheduled service day. You need to provide the next address with at least 48 hours notice, but a week's lead time is better for routing. Rain delays are common; call the dispatcher as soon as you know the schedule change. The invoice should show one monthly rental rate plus a per-mile transport charge between sites, not a new delivery fee each time. Keep the unit on a weekly service schedule; the holding tank for four guys over five days will be fine with that frequency.
