Weekend farm stand through fall: leave the unit all week or pick up between Saturdays?

We run a small produce stand on Saturdays from September into early November. Crowd size jumps around with the weather, maybe 40 to 80 people over the afternoon. There is no indoor restroom on the property for customers, and I do not want folks walking up to the house.

Looking at a standard unit on the gravel pad by the stand. Truck can reach it fine. What I cannot decide is whether to leave it parked for the whole season with weekly service, or do one-day weekend rentals and get it picked up each Sunday.

Also wondering if a handwash station next to it is worth it since people are handling produce, or if the sanitizer on the unit is enough for a farm stand crowd. Anyone done seasonal weekend spots like this?

Leave the standard unit on site with weekly service for the season. Weekend pickup and redelivery will cost more in delivery fees and coordination than a weekly service visit, and the rental company will charge you for each round trip. A weekly service visit includes pumping the holding tank, adding deodorizer, restocking toilet paper and cleaning the interior. For your crowd size of 40 to 80 people over a few hours on Saturday, one standard unit meets the common event guideline, which is about one unit per 50 to 75 people for a four-hour event. Since you are not serving alcohol and the event is short, one unit should be sufficient.

A handwash station is worth it for a farm stand. The hand sanitizer dispenser inside the portable toilet is for after use, but customers handling produce will want to wash their hands with soap and water before shopping. The handwash station has a foot pump, fresh water tank and soap. It requires its own weekly service to refill the water and soap, which adds to the cost. I would get both the standard unit and the handwash station for the season.
