A deluxe-unit has a non-flushing toilet with a larger holding tank, a handwash sink with a foot pump, and a mirror. A flushing-unit uses a foot pedal to flush waste with water into a smaller tank, mimicking a permanent restroom. The flush reduces odor immediately after each use and prevents waste from sitting exposed, which is a comfort upgrade for guests in business attire or for a catered event where impressions matter.

The smaller tank in the flushing unit is not a problem for a five-hour event with 150 people. Industry planning guidelines start near one unit per 50 to 75 people for a four-hour event, so you will need multiple units regardless. With good service frequency after the event, the tank size does not limit function. The flushing unit costs more because it has a more complex valve mechanism and requires more water and cleaning during service.
