Hot-weather routes: what changes about servicing porta potties above 95 degrees?
When the forecast says 95 or above, my whole day changes. The blue deodorizer in a standard unit breaks down faster, and a full holding tank starts cooking in the sun. I pump more units that are already full by Wednesday on a weekly route. Deluxe units with sinks run out of water quicker, and the smell from a restroom trailer's gray water tank can get aggressive if it's not serviced mid-week. I carry extra water and paper, and I'm on the phone with the office asking to bump up service frequency for construction sites with 50 guys and no shade. What do you other drivers do? Do you use a different deodorizer blend in the summer, or just pump them more often? How do you handle a festival with 500 people and food vendors on a hot weekend?
