Can a flushing porta potty handle daily use in a school remodel?

We're starting a six-week remodel at a high school with 60 staff and students on site daily. The existing restrooms are out of commission, so we need portable units that can handle constant use from 7 AM to 4 PM. I'm considering upgrading from standard units to flushing porta potties for better hygiene and user comfort. The units will be placed on level asphalt near the faculty parking lot, with clear access for a vacuum truck. Has anyone used flushing units for a school project? Do they hold up with daily service, or is a restroom trailer a better fit for this traffic level?

A flushing portable toilet can handle daily use in a school remodel with proper servicing. For 60 staff and students, OSHA 1926.51 requires at least two toilets (one per 20 workers, rounded up), but you should add more for comfort and to account for non-worker use. Flushing units, like a deluxe unit, offer better hygiene with a flushing mechanism and often include a sink, but they require more frequent service due to smaller holding tanks and fresh water refills. Daily service may be needed during peak hours to prevent overuse. A restroom trailer provides multiple stalls and sinks, reducing wait times and offering higher capacity, but it requires electrical power and level placement. Both options work with your asphalt site and truck access; choose based on budget and desired comfort level.
