October 2026 wedding: 150 guests, 7 hours, open bar. Units needed?

We're planning our wedding for October 2026 on my parents' property in Charleston. It'll be 150 guests, a seven-hour event with an open bar and catering. The ground is grassy but level, and a truck can drive right up to the spot where we'd place the units. I'm trying to figure out how many porta potties to rent, I know alcohol means we need more, but I'm not sure how many. Should we go with standard units, or is a restroom trailer worth it for a wedding? How many ADA-compliant units do we need for that guest count?

For a 150-guest wedding with an open bar and seven hours, rent at least four standard portable toilets and one ADA-compliant unit. The ADA requires at least one accessible unit per cluster, which covers your group. Alcohol and duration increase usage, so adding a fifth standard unit is wise to prevent lines.

Standard units are cost-effective and handle high traffic. A restroom trailer offers flushing toilets and sinks but requires level ground, a generator or power hookup, and often costs more due to setup and servicing needs. It's a luxury upgrade if your budget allows.

Service frequency depends on use: a one-time event like this typically needs a single delivery and pickup, but if units are rented for multiple days, weekly service is the norm. Your grassy, level site with truck access makes placement and servicing straightforward. Confirm with the rental company that they use formaldehyde-free deodorizer, as many wastewater plants restrict it.
