Truck access: soft ground after October rains. Will they still deliver?

We're starting a full bathroom renovation in a couple of weeks, which means we need a portable toilet on our property for at least a month. I called a rental company and they asked me about truck access. In the summer, our side yard is hard-packed dirt, but it's been raining a lot here in Portland and the ground is getting soft. I'm worried their truck will get stuck when they try to deliver the standard unit I ordered. The spot I have in mind is about 30 feet from the driveway, and I'm not sure if they'll even attempt the delivery if the ground is wet. What happens in this situation? Do companies have different types of trucks for soft ground, or do they just refuse to deliver until it dries out?

Yes, a rental company will still deliver a standard unit to soft ground, but they will assess the risk first. Their main concern is truck access for both delivery and future service visits.

They use a standard flatbed or box truck for deliveries, not specialized off-road vehicles. If the ground is too soft, they might refuse delivery to avoid getting stuck, which causes delays and extra costs. For a 30-foot placement from the driveway, they may attempt it if the ground is firm enough to support the truck's weight.

You can improve access by laying down plywood sheets or gravel for the truck to drive on. Communicate with the rental company about the conditions beforehand. They might schedule the delivery for a drier day or recommend a closer placement to the driveway. Weekly service is standard, but blocked access results in a missed service, which you still pay for.
