Can a flushing portable toilet handle frequent use in a busy office remodel?

We're six weeks into a downtown office remodel with 20 carpenters and electricians onsite daily. The two standard portable toilets we have now are fine for the crew, but I'm wondering about upgrading to a flushing portable toilet for the rest of the project. The ground is level asphalt in the building's parking lot, and the vacuum truck has easy access every Tuesday. A flushing unit would be nicer for the crew, but I'm not sure if it can handle 20 people using it all day without constant service. How does the holding tank capacity compare to a standard unit? Does the fresh water tank need refilling between weekly service visits? Would we be better off with a deluxe unit or even a small restroom trailer instead?

A flushing portable toilet can handle 20 workers for a construction site with weekly service, but its holding tank is smaller than a standard unit. The standard unit holds 50 to 70 gallons, while a flushing unit's holding tank is typically 40 to 50 gallons because it shares space with a fresh water tank. For 20 workers, OSHA 1926.51 requires only one toilet, so two units are already above the minimum. A flushing unit uses a fresh water tank for flushing, which may need refilling between weekly service visits if usage is heavy, as each flush consumes water. A deluxe unit with a sink adds convenience but also increases water consumption. A small restroom trailer offers multiple stalls and sinks but requires electrical power and more frequent pumping. For your setup, a flushing unit is feasible with weekly service, but expect to monitor the water level. Upgrading improves comfort but may require adjustments if usage peaks.
