Celebration of life at my dad's farm next Saturday: about 80 guests, several on walkers. One ADA unit or two?

My dad passed a couple weeks ago and we're holding a celebration of life at his place out in the country next Saturday afternoon. Figure around 80 people for 4 or 5 hours. The house runs on a well and an old septic, and my brother doesn't want 80 people flushing that tank, so we're renting units.

A lot of dad's friends are in their 70s and 80s. I know of at least three on walkers and one in a wheelchair. My plan was two standard units plus one ADA unit set on the gravel pad by the barn so nobody is rolling across wet grass.

Is one ADA unit enough for a crowd that skews this old, or should we just get two? Is a week out too late to book this time of year? And where do you put a handwash station so people actually use it?

Rent two ADA-compliant units for your celebration of life. The ADA cluster rule requires at least one ADA-compliant unit per cluster, but with multiple guests using mobility aids, a second unit provides redundancy and reduces wait times. For 80 guests at a 4-5 hour event, the planning guideline suggests about one to two units total, but older crowds and mobility needs justify additional capacity. Place both ADA units on the gravel pad for stable access, avoiding wet grass. A week out is not too late to book, but confirm availability immediately due to seasonal demand. Position the handwash station directly between the units and the gathering area, ensuring it's visible and on the path guests will naturally take. Use a unit with a foot pump or hands-free operation to encourage use. Service frequency depends on use; for a one-day event, a single service after is standard, but discuss with the rental company if pre-event delivery and post-event pickup are included.
