How do operators decide on deodorizer for hot climates?

I'm a new driver for a rental company in North Texas. My boss uses a specific deodorizer formula for the summer months, and I'm curious about how operators decide on this. We run a mix of standard units, deluxe units with flushing bowls and sinks, and a few ADA-compliant units for construction sites and events. In this heat, a standard unit's holding tank can get pretty ripe after a few days, especially at a weekend festival with alcohol and food vendors. Our service truck needs to reach within 25 feet on level ground, but sometimes access is tight. What factors do you consider when picking a deodorizer for hot climates? Do you switch formulas seasonally, or stick with one year-round? How does heavy use or long rental periods affect your choice?

Operators choose a hot-climate deodorizer based on its biocide strength, odor-masking ability, and wastewater treatment plant acceptance. In North Texas heat, a standard unit's holding tank will off-gas more, so we use a formula with a stronger, faster-acting biocide and a more robust fragrance. Many operators switch seasonally to a summer blend that handles rapid bacterial growth, then revert to a standard blend in cooler months. Heavy use at a festival or a long rental period means the deodorizer must work under constant load; we might increase the service frequency instead of changing the formula. Deluxe units and ADA-compliant units get the same deodorizer, but their flushing action and sinks help with cleanliness. The key is avoiding formaldehyde, since most treatment plants restrict it. Always check that the vacuum truck can get within 25 feet on level ground for pumping, because a missed service makes any deodorizer fail.
