Can the service hose reach a unit 100 feet from the truck?

We're setting up a construction site with a long, narrow gravel driveway. The only good spot for the portable toilet is about 100 feet from where the service truck can park. It's a standard unit for 25 guys over 12 weeks. The ground is level gravel, but I'm worried about the hose reach. Does a vacuum truck have that much hose? What if we need a deluxe unit later?

Yes, a vacuum truck can service a unit 100 feet away. The hose on a standard vacuum truck is typically 100 to 125 feet long, so 100 feet is within reach. Make sure the ground is clear of obstacles and the path is relatively level for the hose to lay flat without kinks. For your construction site with 25 workers, OSHA 1926.51 requires one standard unit, which you have. Weekly service is the norm, but if usage is heavy or temperatures are high, you might need it more often. If you upgrade to a deluxe unit later, the service process is the same, the vacuum truck pumps the holding tank. Just confirm with your rental company that their truck’s hose length handles 100 feet, as some older trucks might have shorter hoses. They’ll appreciate you asking ahead of time.
