Service truck access: What's the maximum hose length for pumping a unit?

We have a standard portable toilet on my current residential addition project. The unit is on the far side of the lot, about 60 feet from the curb where the pump truck can park. The ground is flat and grass-covered. The driver mentioned the distance being a problem with his hose. I need to know the maximum hose length for pumping a unit so I can figure out if we need to move it. Is this distance too far? What's the typical hose length on a vacuum truck, and what happens if the hose can't reach? Do they carry extensions, or is it a hard limit?

The maximum hose length on a vacuum truck is typically 50 to 60 feet. Your unit at 60 feet from the curb is too far for a standard hose to reach without an extension.

Vacuum trucks carry a primary hose that connects to the pump. Some drivers carry hose extensions, but these are not universal. Using an extension reduces suction power and increases the risk of spills or incomplete pumping. If the hose cannot reach, the driver logs a missed service. You will likely be billed for the trip, and the unit will not be serviced until it is moved closer.

For future placement, keep a standard portable toilet within 25 feet of where the truck can park. Level ground and clear access make servicing efficient. If moving the unit is not possible, ask your rental company about options, but expect additional fees for any extra equipment or labor required.
