Our site has a 10% grade. Can a vacuum truck still pump the unit?

We're setting up a standard portable toilet for a small crew of five working on our house remodel for the next month. The only flat spot on our property is a patch of grass with a noticeable slope, the ground drops about a foot over ten feet. The delivery truck could back up to it, but the vacuum truck would be parked on the incline. I'm worried about whether the pump can handle the angle when emptying the holding tank. Does the vacuum truck need to be perfectly level to work, or can it manage a slope? Should we try to level the ground more, or is this placement okay?

A vacuum truck can pump a standard portable toilet on a slope, but the truck itself must be parked on level ground. The vacuum truck needs to be level to operate safely and pump the holding tank completely. Your slope drops a foot over ten feet, which is steep for the truck. The driver will try to position the truck as level as possible, but if the incline is too severe, the pump may not work efficiently and waste could be left in the tank. Level the ground more if you can, or find a flatter spot for the unit. Your crew of five needs one standard unit under OSHA 1926.51 for construction sites. Weekly service is the norm, but low use might allow longer intervals. Tell the rental company about the slope so they can plan the service visit.
