3-day outdoor festival: does a handwash station need a fresh water hookup?

We're running a small outdoor music weekend, Friday afternoon through Sunday night, maybe 400 people a day across two stages on grass. Food vendors and beer, so I want real handwashing near the porta potty cluster, not just sanitizer pumps.

The quote lists a standalone handwash station with its own fresh water tank. Sales person said it should last if they top it off when they do mid-event service. I'm nervous about Saturday afternoon when the line gets long and the tank runs dry.

Do these usually need a continuous hose hookup for a multi-day fest, or is onboard tank plus a scheduled refill enough? Site has a spigot about 80 feet from where the units will sit. Truck can get within 25 feet of the cluster.

Anyone run this setup for a full weekend without the sink going dry mid-day?

No, a standalone handwash station with its own fresh water tank does not need a continuous hookup for a three-day festival if serviced correctly. The onboard tank holds enough water for normal use between service visits. Your rental company should schedule a mid-event service to refill the tank, empty the gray water reservoir, and restock soap and paper towels. With 400 people daily, alcohol, and food vendors, plan for service at least once per day, ideally Saturday morning and Sunday morning. The spigot 80 feet away is usable for refills during service if the driver brings a hose. Ensure the station is placed within 25 feet of truck access so the vacuum hose can reach the gray water tank.
