High-rise pour scheduled for October 2026. Extra units for concrete crew?

We have a 60-person crew on site with four standard portable toilets and one ADA-compliant unit, serviced weekly. The concrete pump crew of 20 is joining for a week in October 2026. They'll be working 10-hour days, no alcohol, food truck on site. The units are on level ground with truck access. Does OSHA 1926.51 require us to add more toilets for the temporary crew, or are we covered since we're under 200 total? Should I order an extra standard unit or a deluxe unit with a sink for the concrete guys?

Yes, OSHA 1926.51 requires you to add more toilets for the temporary concrete crew. Your current setup meets the minimum for 60 workers (one toilet per 40 workers, so two units required, but you have four standard and one ADA unit, which is sufficient). Adding 20 temporary workers brings the total to 80, which requires at least three toilets under OSHA rules, you already exceed that, so no violation. However, practical use matters: 80 people sharing five units over 10-hour days will strain capacity, especially with a food truck increasing usage. Order an extra standard unit to prevent lines and maintain sanitation. A deluxe unit with a sink isn’t necessary for OSHA compliance but could improve hygiene; it costs more due to the flushing mechanism and fresh water needs, and servicing frequency may increase. Ensure all units remain on level ground with clear truck access for weekly service, which is standard for construction sites.
