Family of four, no well until spring 2027. One unit enough?

We're breaking ground on a new well next month, but the contractor says it won't be operational until spring 2027. Our family of four is facing over a year with no running water, so I'm renting a portable toilet for the driveway. It's a standard unit with a holding tank, not a flushing type. The ground is level gravel, and a vacuum truck can pull right up to it. My main worry is whether one unit is enough for daily use by two adults and two kids for that long. I've heard weekly service is standard, but with four people using it every day, I'm concerned about capacity and odor between visits. Should I consider upgrading to a deluxe unit with a sink or even a restroom trailer, or is one standard unit sufficient if serviced weekly?

One standard portable toilet with weekly service is sufficient for a family of four for over a year. The holding tank holds 50 to 70 gallons, which accommodates four people for a week. Weekly service is the industry norm for normal use, and your setup with level gravel and direct truck access ensures reliable pumping. A deluxe unit with a sink or a restroom trailer adds comfort but requires a water source and power, which you lack. Stick with the standard unit, confirm weekly service with your rental company, and use the provided deodorizer to manage odor between visits.
