What's the maximum slope a restroom trailer can handle?

We're planning a wedding for 120 guests with a full bar and buffet. The venue has a nice spot for our restroom trailer, but it's on a slight hill. The rental company said it needs level ground, but they didn't specify how much slope is too much. The ground is grassy and firm, and a truck can drive right up to it. I'm wondering if a small incline is acceptable or if it has to be perfectly flat. What's the maximum slope a restroom trailer can handle without issues like doors not closing or plumbing problems?

The maximum slope a restroom trailer can handle is about 3 degrees off-level before you risk plumbing and door operation issues. A restroom trailer must be level for its toilets to drain properly into the holding tank, for its doors to swing or slide correctly, and for guests to feel stable inside. Most rental companies require the unit to be set on level ground.

For your wedding, measure the slope. A simple method is to place a 4-foot level on the ground; if the bubble is more than a half-inch off-center along that length, the slope is likely too steep. The trailer will be placed on stabilizing jacks, but those jacks are for stabilization, not for correcting a significant slope. Grassy, firm ground is good, but the area under the jacks must be solid.

The rental company's driver will have the final say on placement day. If the spot isn't level enough, they may refuse to set the unit there. Always have a backup, perfectly flat location planned.
