October 2026 craft fair: 200 attendees, mostly women, 8-hour day. How many?

I'm planning a craft fair for October 2026 in a city park with about 200 attendees across an 8-hour day. The park has grass fields, and the service truck can pull right up to the placement area. The crowd will be mostly women, and I have about 20 vendors who will also need to use the facilities. I want to avoid long lines, especially with that demographic.

I'm considering a mix: some standard portable toilets for capacity, maybe a deluxe unit for vendors, and definitely an ADA-compliant unit to meet the cluster rule. A small restroom trailer is also an option if the budget allows. How many total units should I order? Does the mostly female crowd mean I should add more standard units beyond the basic guideline?

Order at least six portable toilets for your craft fair: four standard units, one deluxe unit for vendors and one ADA-compliant unit to meet the ADA cluster rule. A mostly female crowd and an 8-hour duration mean you need more units than the basic guideline of one per 50 to 75 people for a four-hour event. Add units to prevent long lines.

Place the units in a single cluster on level ground with truck access. Include a handwash station with soap and water. Vendors count as workers under OSHA 1926.51, which requires one toilet per 20 workers; 20 vendors need at least one unit, but the deluxe unit handles that plus offers a better experience.

A restroom trailer is an upgrade if you have power and level ground. It provides flushing toilets and sinks but costs more due to the unit type, delivery and setup complexity. Service all units after the event; weekly service is standard, but a one-day event needs no mid-event service unless specified.
