How do operators decide which deodorizer to use in hot climates?

I run a mid-size portable toilet rental fleet in Dallas, and our summers are brutal. The heat amplifies every smell. I've stuck with the same formaldehyde-free deodorizer for years, it's what the local wastewater plant accepts, and it works fine most of the year. But by July, even with weekly service visits, a standard unit on a construction site can get ripe fast. I'm wondering if other operators switch to a different formula or concentration when the temperature hits triple digits. Do you use a stronger biocide, add extra surfactant, or just increase service frequency? What actually holds up best in extreme heat without causing disposal issues?

Operators choose a formaldehyde-free deodorizer with higher biocide concentration and extra surfactant for hot climates. The heat accelerates bacterial growth and breaks down the fragrance faster, so a stronger formula is necessary. I see drivers double-dose the deodorizer in summer, especially on construction sites with high use. They pour it directly into the holding tank during the service visit to ensure it mixes well.

Weekly service is the norm, but in extreme heat, some operators increase service frequency to twice a week for units in heavy sun or high-traffic areas. The key is using a deodorizer that the local wastewater plant accepts, even at higher concentrations. Avoid formaldehyde-based products; they cause disposal issues and many plants ban them. A good surfactant helps spread the deodorizer and break down waste, which matters more when temperatures soar.
