Backyard birthday party Saturday, but they drop the unit Thursday and pick up Monday. Will it be gross by party time?

Throwing a 40th birthday party in our backyard a week from Saturday, about 50 adults from 2pm until late evening. We booked one standard unit plus a handwash station. The rental place says their trucks only do drops on weekdays, so the unit shows up Thursday and they grab it Monday morning.

That means it sits in the side yard for four or five days but only gets real use for one evening. A few questions for anyone who has done this:

  1. Does the unit come clean and fully stocked on Thursday, or should I ask them to swing back before the party?
  2. Is it fine for family to use it Friday while we set up, or does that eat into what we have for Saturday?
  3. Any reason to lock it or keep it shut until party day?

Mostly I just don't want it smelling bad by the time guests show up.

A standard unit will not be gross by party time. The rental company delivers it clean and fully stocked with toilet paper and a fresh charge of deodorizer. That unit has a 50 to 70 gallon holding tank, and for 50 adults using it for one evening, it will be fine. Family use on Friday is okay and will not affect Saturday. The holding tank has plenty of capacity for both days. Locking it is unnecessary. The deodorizer controls odor effectively for a week between service visits. Service frequency is weekly under normal use, but your low usage means no extra service is needed. Just ensure the rental company knows the exact placement spot on level ground with clear truck access for pickup Monday.
