Flushing portable toilet vs. standard: which is easier to service?
I've been driving a vacuum truck for nine years, servicing about 45 to 60 standard portable toilet units a day. They are simple: I pump the holding tank, spray in fresh deodorizer, and wipe the seat. The whole stop takes five minutes if the unit is accessible. Now my company is adding a few flushing portable toilet units to the route, the kind with a small sink and a foot pump. They look nicer for a wedding or a long-term construction site office, but I'm wondering about the work. I see a fresh water tank to check and a hand pump that could break. Is a flushing unit actually harder to service on a tight schedule? What extra steps do you take that add time?
