Kids birthday party: can little kids manage a standard porta potty?

A standard portable toilet is manageable for most 7-year-olds but challenging for 4 and 5-year-olds without help. For a party with young children, you will need an adult to stand outside the unit to assist the little ones with the step and closing the door.

You should absolutely add the handwash station. Kids will get pizza grease and cake frosting on their hands, and a handwash station gives them a place to clean up before eating. It also prevents them from needing to go inside your house to wash. A hand sanitizer dispenser mounted on the unit is not a substitute for soap and water with messy food.

Since you are serving food, the handwash station becomes even more important for hygiene. Place the unit and the handwash station together on level ground near the party area, but not right next to the food table. Make sure the delivery truck has clear access to the placement spot for drop-off and pickup.
