I'm renting a six-stall restroom trailer for an outdoor trade show in January. The forecast says it'll be near freezing all weekend. The rental company mentioned built-in heaters but didn't specify if they're electric, propane, or something else. They also didn't talk about fuel consumption or extra power needs. The trailer will sit on asphalt with truck access about 15 feet away. We'll have about 500 people over two days, no alcohol but food vendors on site. Most restroom trailers have electric forced-air heaters built into the climate control system. They run on 120V power and require a dedicated circuit from a generator or a site power source. A six-stall trailer with heaters running continuously in near-freezing temperatures will need a generator with enough capacity for the heaters, the interior lights, the ventilation fans and the water pump. You should ask the rental company for the trailer's total wattage requirement; they can tell you the exact generator size. The asphalt placement is fine, but ensure the trailer is on level ground and that the truck access remains clear for the vacuum truck. For 500 people over two days with food vendors, your six stalls are a good fit. Confirm with the rental company that the unit is winterized and that the fresh water tank and lines are protected from freezing.
