Outdoor wedding: flushable porta potty or stick with a standard unit?

We are planning a backyard wedding for about 90 guests, ceremony and reception both outside. The quote came back with a standard porta potty and a flushable unit as two options. Older relatives are coming, and a few people keep saying the flushable feels more like a real bathroom because of the foot pump and the built-in sink.

Is a flushable actually worth it for a one-day outdoor wedding, or is a clean standard unit plus a separate hand wash station enough when guests cannot go indoors? I care more about lines and smell than fancy finishes. Also unsure whether a flushable needs a water hookup on site, or if it runs self-contained like a regular porta potty.

Anyone who has rented either for a wedding or similar outdoor party, what would you pick and why?

For a one-day outdoor wedding at about 90 guests, a clean standard unit plus a separate hand wash station is usually enough if smell and lines are what you care about. The flushable feels nicer because of the foot pump and the sink in the cabin, but it does not fix queue time by itself.

Most flushable rentals for events are self-contained. They carry a freshwater tank for the flush and the sink, so you do not need a hose hookup on the lawn. Confirm that with whoever is delivering, because a few trailers do want water and power.

What cut smell and lines for us was a fresh service visit the morning of the event, a hand wash station right next to the door, and enough seats that people are not waiting through the cocktail hour. One toilet for ninety guests gets crowded fast once dinner and drinks hit. If the quote only has one cabin either way, ask about a second standard unit before you pay up for flush hardware alone.

I would pick flushable if older relatives are your main worry and the budget is already there. Otherwise standard plus wash station, placed out of the photo line of sight, has worked fine on backyard receptions I have helped set.
