Saturday backyard birthday. Can they drop a porta potty Friday and pick it up Sunday?

Can a rental company drop a standard unit on Friday and leave it through Sunday for a Saturday afternoon birthday in the backyard?

We've got about 40 people coming, mostly family, food outside, and our house only has one bathroom. The party itself is only a few hours, but I don't want to gamble on a same-day Saturday delivery if their trucks are already booked for the weekend.

Driveway is gravel and plenty wide for a truck. I'd put the unit along the side fence, away from the food tables. No freeze worry here yet, just the timing.

Do most outfits treat Friday drop and Sunday pickup as a normal weekend rental, or do they push hard for Saturday-only with a same-day haul out?

Yes, a rental company can drop a standard unit on Friday and pick it up Sunday for a Saturday event. Most companies treat this as a standard weekend rental, which typically covers a three-day period like Friday to Sunday. Your setup sounds ideal: the gravel driveway provides good truck access, and placing the unit away from food tables is smart for guest comfort. For 40 people at a short event, one standard unit should suffice based on event planning guidelines, which recommend about one unit per 50 to 75 people for a four-hour gathering. Since it's a family event without alcohol mentioned, you likely won't need additional units. Weekend rentals often include a single service cycle, but for a two-day placement like this, the unit won't require mid-event servicing. Some companies might push for Saturday-only drop and pickup to maximize truck availability, but Friday-Sunday is common and avoids same-day delivery risks. Just confirm the pickup timing with your rental company to ensure it fits your Sunday schedule.

Yes, a rental company can drop a standard unit Friday and pick it up Sunday for your backyard birthday. Brooke covered the weekend rental structure well, but I'll add that the driver will confirm the placement spot is on level ground and has clear access for the vacuum truck on both delivery and pickup days. Since it's a short event with 40 people, one standard unit is sufficient based on event planning guidelines. Just ensure the rental agreement specifies the exact pickup day and time, as some companies charge extra for missed pickups if the unit is blocked or inaccessible.
