November 2026 charity run: 300 participants, 4 hours. Units and handwash stations?

I'm organizing a charity 5K run in a city park this November. We expect 300 participants, plus volunteers and spectators, so maybe 350 people total. The event runs from 8 AM to noon, so four hours. We'll have a water station and post-run snacks, but no alcohol. The park has grassy, level ground, and a service road runs along the edge so a vacuum truck can access the placement area. I need to submit a restroom plan with the permit application. How many standard portable toilets and ADA-compliant units should I rent? Do I need handwash stations, and how many?

Rent eight standard portable toilets and one ADA-compliant unit, plus two handwash stations. The ADA Standards for Accessible Design require at least one ADA-compliant portable toilet per cluster for events like this. For 350 people over four hours with no alcohol, the industry guideline is about one standard portable toilet per 50 people, so seven units, but round up to eight for volunteers and spectators. Add two handwash stations with soap and water, one near the toilet cluster and one by the snack area. Your park’s level ground and service road access are perfect for placement and servicing. Service frequency isn’t needed for a four-hour event, but confirm with the rental company that units will be delivered clean and fully stocked. Include this plan in your permit application.
