Backyard quinceañera with a court in big ball gowns. Will those dresses even fit through a standard porta potty door?

My daughter's quince is in our backyard in a few weeks, about 90 guests, ceremony at church first and then the party here until late. The house only has one bathroom and I am not letting 90 people walk through my kitchen all night, so we're renting units for the side yard.

My worry is the dresses. My daughter and her damas are all in full ball gowns with hoops and layers of tulle. I stood in a standard porta potty at my nephew's soccer game and I honestly can't picture her turning around in there.

Is the wheelchair accessible unit the move for the girls since it's bigger inside, or is that not okay to use that way? Is a small restroom trailer worth it just for this? And is there anything about the door or step I should know before she tries it in that dress at 11pm?

Yes, an ADA-compliant portable toilet is the right choice for ball gowns because it has more interior space and a wider door. The ADA Standards for Accessible Design require a 60-inch diameter turning circle inside, which gives enough room to manage a full skirt. Using it for this purpose is perfectly acceptable as long as it remains available for guests who need it.

For 90 guests at a long party with alcohol, the planning guideline suggests renting more than the minimum number of units. Place at least one ADA-compliant portable toilet in the cluster, along with several standard units. A small restroom trailer offers even more comfort with flushing toilets and mirrors, but it requires level ground, electrical power, and a higher rental cost due to its features.

Check the door width and step height on any unit. An ADA-compliant portable toilet has a wider door and a lower step, but adding a small ramp or having a friend assist can help with the dress. For evening use, request solar lights for safety and convenience.
