Restroom trailer on slope: how much is too much?

We're renting a six-stall restroom trailer for a backyard wedding with 120 guests over six hours, serving food and alcohol. The venue has a grassy slope where we want to place it, but I'm worried about safety and function. The ground drops about eight inches over the trailer's length. My rental company mentioned leveling is critical for doors to swing right and waste to drain properly. How much slope is too much for a restroom trailer? What's the max grade you'd risk without bringing in a pro to level the site first?

Eight inches over the length of a six stall trailer is usually workable, as long as the crew levels it with the tongue jack and blocks and the ground under the wheels is firm.

We ran a trailer on a sloped lawn at our fall festival with a similar drop. The driver backed it in with the tongue on the uphill side, raised the low end with the jack, then stacked wood cribbing under the corner stabilizers until his bubble level read flat both ways. Took him maybe twenty minutes. Doors swung fine and nothing backed up all weekend.

What actually causes trouble is soft or wet grass, not the slope number. If it rained that week, the wheels and jacks can sink and the trailer drifts out of level by the second hour.

A few things I'd check with the rental company before the day:

  1. Send them a photo of the spot with a tape measure showing the drop.
  2. Ask if they carry enough cribbing and plywood pads for the jacks.
  3. Confirm the truck can reach that spot without rutting the lawn.

If they look at the photo and say it's fine, it's fine. That's their call to make, not yours.
