Restroom trailer for a 3-day corporate retreat: does it need a dedicated water hookup?

I'm pricing a restroom trailer for a 3-day corporate retreat with 60 people. The venue has grass ground with good truck access, and they're serving catered meals. The location has water spigots, but they're shared with the caterer for cooking and cleanup. I'm wondering if the trailer can just use its onboard fresh water tank instead of fighting for a dedicated hookup. The trailer has a 100-gallon fresh water tank and flushing toilets. Does that tank hold enough for three days of moderate use, or will we need to schedule refills? What's the realistic water consumption per person for a flushing unit?

Plan on a mid-event refill and pump, because a 100 gallon tank on flushing toilets is a one-day setup for 60 people, not a three-day one.

I ran a two-day company offsite with a similar size crowd and a trailer on tank only. We were fine day one. By mid afternoon on day two the sinks were sputtering, and the waste side was close to full too. That's the part people forget. Every gallon that goes into the fresh water tank ends up in the holding tank, so even with a hookup you still need the waste side serviced on a multi day event.

What I'd do in your spot:

  • Ask the rental company for the trailer's real flush volume and waste tank size, then have them quote a service visit on the morning of day two.
  • Talk to the caterer now. A short hose run off a splitter on one spigot usually works fine, since the trailer only draws when it refills.
  • Put the trailer where the truck can back right up to it without crossing soft grass after a rain.

Catered meals mean lots of handwashing at the sinks, so expect heavier draw than a normal party.
