Pool party for about 60 people in our backyard: do I put the porta potty right by the pool or out by the gate?

We're hosting my niece's birthday pool party at our place in a couple of weeks. Still warm here, so the plan is swimming most of the afternoon, maybe 60 people with a lot of kids. We have one bathroom inside and I really don't want wet kids running through the living room all day dripping on the floors, so I'm renting a porta potty.

My question is placement. The spot closest to the pool is on the pavers about 15 feet from the edge. The other option is grass out by the side gate, which is easier for the truck but a longer walk for little kids in wet swimsuits.

Is it a bad idea to have one that close to the water? Do wet feet make the floor inside slippery? And would a handwash station be worth adding with that many kids eating and swimming? Anything else I'm not thinking about?

Place the portable toilet on the pavers 15 feet from the pool. Wet feet do not make the floor inside a standard portable toilet slippery because the floor is textured plastic designed for traction. The holding tank is sealed, and water from wet swimsuits drains into the tank without causing hazards. Avoid placing it on grass near the gate because children in wet swimsuits will track less water through your home if the unit is close to the pool.

Add a handwash station for 60 people, especially with children eating and swimming. It reduces germ spread and keeps hands clean before handling food. A standard unit with a hand sanitizer dispenser inside is an option, but a separate station with soap and running water is more effective.

For a pool party of 60 people lasting an afternoon, one standard portable toilet meets event planning guidelines. Service is not needed for a one-day event, but ensure the rental company delivers it clean and fully stocked. Confirm the delivery truck can access the pavers, the driver may use a dolly to move the unit into place if the ground is firm and level.
