Outdoor November wedding: handwash stations freeze?

We're getting married at a farm outside of town in late November, ceremony at 4 PM and reception until 11. It's 90 guests, a catered dinner, and an open bar. I've rented three standard portable toilets and one ADA-compliant unit for the cluster, plus two handwash stations. The forecast says it'll drop into the 30s after sunset. I'm worried the water in the handwash stations will freeze and be unusable by the end of the night. They're on level grass, and the rental truck can pull right up to them for setup. Has anyone dealt with this? What do rental companies do to prevent freezing, or should I skip them and just use hand sanitizer dispensers?

Yes, a freestanding handwash station can freeze once overnight temps sit in the 30s, especially after sunset when people stop using it.

Keep the stations. For a late November wedding with catered dinner, guests still need soap and water near the food line, and sanitizer alone is a weak substitute when people are grabbing plates. Ask the rental company to winterize the freshwater tanks before delivery. Shops that regularly do cold-weather events put non-toxic RV antifreeze in the fresh tank and lines so the pump still works when it dips below freezing. Some will wrap the tank or offer a station with a small heater if the farm has power nearby.

If they cannot winterize, stage the stations where they get afternoon sun, keep the lids closed between uses, and treat sanitizer as backup only. Confirm truck access stays clear on the grass so pickup is clean after the reception.

Your three standard units plus one ADA unit is a solid cluster for 90 guests with an open bar. Just do not leave untreated handwash water sitting out overnight in that forecast.
