How many handwash stations for a cluster of 10 porta potties?

Our festival is using a bank of 10 standard portable toilets, all in one cluster. The event runs for two days, about eight hours of public access each day, and we're serving food from local vendors and selling beer and wine. The units are on level grass in a city park, and a vacuum truck can get right up to them for service. I'm trying to finalize our order for handwash stations. Some of the planning guides I've seen suggest one station for every two or three toilets, but a friend who runs a construction company says they just put one station per cluster of units. I want to make sure we have enough for good hygiene without over-ordering. For a situation like this, is one station enough, or do we need to plan for more? Does selling alcohol change the calculation?

One station for a bank of 10 is usually short when you have food vendors and alcohol for two full days. Construction crews get away with one station per cluster because they have a small fixed crew and daytime hours. A festival crowd turns that around. People leave the toilets, hit the food line, and want soap and water again before they eat. Beer and wine push restroom trips up, so the handwash lines stack faster too.

I would put at least a couple of stations at that cluster, and keep one more near the vendor area if the health inspector wants separation from the food tents. Place them so the queue does not block the toilet doors. Confirm the local special event permit and health department rules before you lock the count, because some counties write the handwash requirement into the permit rather than treating it as optional.

A handwash station next to a bank of standard units also needs fresh water and greywater capacity for both days, so ask your rental company how they refill and empty during a multi-day event.
