Does a private backyard party on our own property need an ADA porta potty?
We're hosting a backyard graduation for about 60 people on our own property. Invitation only, no tickets, no public listing. One relative uses a wheelchair and the house bathroom sits a few steps up from the patio, so we planned a standard unit on the driveway and maybe an ADA unit if we actually have to.
A friend said the ADA portable toilet rules only kick in for public events or places of public accommodation, not a private party at a house. The person who wrote our rental quote still pushed an ADA unit next to the standard one.
Do private parties on private property have to follow the same ADA portable toilet rules as public events, or is that just good practice when someone on the guest list needs it? Looking for the real line, not what the rental sheet says.
